Communicating Value and Convincing Colleagues About SoTL–Cynthia DeBoy

 

 

In this session, Scholars will prepare an “elevator talk” about communicating value in SoTL; Scholars will align their response to their institutional goals. Scholars will present to the group for feedback.

Becoming a leader and publishing your work    - Samantha Elliott

 

In this session, Scholars will hear from the Editor in Chief of JMBE about publication opportunities and considerations when planning to submit a manuscript. Scholars will also consider how they can use their own work to move towards leadership in SoTL in STEM education.

Opportunities beyond SoTL– Timothy Paustian 

 

 

In this session, Scholars will hear about how a journey into SoTL led to collaborations, presentations, a grant and publication opportunities.

Leadership and Closure –

 

In this session, Scholars will learn about becoming agents of change at their home institution, their new role as BSP ambassadors, and available resources for Biology Scholars Alumni. We would like to encourage a roundtable discussion with talking points about the future of STEM Education. This will also be an opportunity to network with existing Scholar Alumni to learn about their post-Residency experiences.
