August '09– contact NGCSU IRB and ask about requirements, timeline for submission and acceptance

August-September-continue to look for background literature search and refine my question/angle as a result of this search. Start working on instruments, assessments, to be used in course in the spring

October-continue working on instruments, assessments, to be used in course in the spring

November- seek out experts in statistics and qualitative research for help with data analysis

November-submit experimental design and data collection plans to IRB

December- finish ironing out assessments and other course components. Get reagents and other materials ready for the actual class!!

January '10– May: run study.

January- get release form from students, collect pre- (baseline) data in classroom

March-collect mid-point assessments

April 19- last day of classes. Collect post- data from students.

April 20- when I’m done: data analysis
