JULY 2009
·        Complete CITI training.
·        Literature search for: daily quizzes and class performance; weekly study logs; student attitude surveys and/or student motivation surveys.
 
AUGUST 2009
·        Continue literature search
·        Discuss with colleague(s) teaching other sections of the course (BIOL 1101) about the study to get their approval to participate as control groups.
·        Draft and submit IRB by Aug. 7.
·        Work with colleagues and/or team members to:
o   Update syllabus to reflect the daily quizzes, study logs, etc. 
o   Draft and/or modify pre-test, study log, science motivation questionnaire, post-exam survey, etc.
·        Distribute consent forms to students the first week of class while discussing the study. 
·        Conduct pre-test and distribute science motivation questionnaire during the first week of class (Week of Aug. 17). 
·        Start implementing the daily quizzes and the weekly study logs during the second week of class. (Week of Aug. 24)
 
SEPTEMBER 2009
·        Continue daily quizzes and weekly study logs.
·        Distribute post-exam survey after exam(s).
·        Discuss with colleagues in BIOL 1101 the study logs, student performance, etc.
·        Begin to analyze the impact of daily quizzes and weekly study logs on its impact to student performance.
·        Find a piece of the project for undergraduate “Intro to Research” student. 
·        Chat with team members and other Biology Scholars about progress of research, feedback, etc. 
 
OCTOBER 2009
·        Continue daily quizzes and weekly study logs.
·        Distribute post-exam survey after exam(s).
·        Discuss with colleagues in BIOL 1101 the study logs, student performance, etc.
·        Continue to analyze the impact of daily quizzes and weekly study logs. 
·        Continue to work with undergraduate “Intro to Research” student.
·        Chat with colleagues, team members and other Biology Scholars about progress of research, feedback, etc. 
·        Attend ACUBE meeting in Kansas City.
 
NOVEMBER 2009
·        Continue daily quizzes and weekly study logs.
·        Distribute post-exam survey after exam(s).
·        Continue to work with undergraduate “Intro to Research” student.
·        Analyze the impact of daily quizzes and weekly study logs on its impact to student performance. 
·        Identify a piece of the project for graduate student on rotation to help with.
·        Chat with colleagues, team members and other Biology Scholars about progress of research, feedback, etc. 
·        Find opportunities to present research.
 
DECEMBER 2009
·        Continue daily quizzes and weekly study logs.
·        Distribute post-exam survey after exam(s).
·        Distribute post-test (as part of final exam) and student motivation questionnaire.
·        Distribute course evaluation form. 
·        Analyze the impact of daily quizzes and weekly study logs on its impact to student performance. 
·        Chat with colleagues, team members and other Biology Scholars about progress of research, feedback, etc. 
·        Decide if study will continue in the Spring Semester and if it is continued, what modifications need to be made. 
 
JANUARY 2010
·        Continue to analyze data
·        Work on abstract for ASMCUE
·        Find conferences and other opportunities to present research
 
FEBRUARY 2010
·        Abstract draft due on Feb. 1
·        Final abstract due for ASMCUE
·        Register for ASMCUE and travel grant (if eligible)
