Learning Objectives for “Results”:

Students will be able to:

·         clearly present and organize data  in the “Results” section of their scientific papers

·         integrate multiple sources of data to identify trends that are not apparent when examining each source individually

·         clearly describe observations of data and trends.

1) Write a paragraph describing, in detail, the results that are observed in Table 1 and then describe the results seen in Table 2.  Clearly articulate the most significant results that are seen in this data.

2) Now re-consider Tables 1 and 2.  Is there a better way to sort/rearrange the data or use a figure to clearly show the most significant results?

3) Again re-consider the data in both Tables 1 and 2.  Do you make any new observations that were not apparent when examining Tables 1 and 2 separately?  Write a detailed description of these observations, clearly articulating the most significant results.

4) Make a figure or table that best represents the results that you described in your answer to the above question.
